About this masterclass

The masterclass 'Communication skills: parents and colleagues' covers the key conversation techniques and communication skills that apply when working with both parents and colleagues. The focus is on strengthening your communication qualities, so that you can communicate effectively in a variety of situations within the professional setting of education or care. This masterclass has been specifically designed for people who are in regular contact with parents and colleagues and who want to deepen their understanding of effective, empathetic and purposeful communication.

After completing the masterclass, participants will be able to:

Certification

Each participant receives a digital ENVOZ certificate for this masterclass, 'Communication skills: parents and colleagues'.

Licence

For certified swimming teachers who already hold a personal ENVOZ Swimming Teacher licence, this masterclass counts as continuing professional development for the renewal of their licence. Participating certified swimming teachers who do not yet have a personal ENVOZ licence may apply for one after participation by submitting a copy of an ENVOZ-recognised swimming teacher diploma and a copy of a recent VOG (or a comparable foreign certificate of good conduct).

The masterclass consists of interactive exercises, practical examples and theoretical foundations to improve participants' communication skills.

The following topics are covered:

1. The basics of effective communication

• The role of active listening skills.
• The importance of non-verbal communication.
• Giving and receiving feedback.

2. Communication with parents

• Creating an open and constructive dialogue.
• Dealing with emotional or difficult conversations.
• Building understanding and working together on solutions.

3. Communication with colleagues

• Working within a team: communication and collaboration.
• Dealing with differences and conflicts.
• Clear and respectful communication in a professional context.

4. Practical exercises and role plays

• Applying conversation techniques in simulated situations.
• Practical cases focusing on communication with parents and colleagues.

This masterclass offers practical tools and directly applicable skills that participants can use to communicate more effectively in their professional practice.
